William Roger York
William Roger York, 55 of Baxter died Saturday at his home.
Mr. York was a retired mechanic with Harlan Shell Station.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Obie and Mona Day York; brothers, Ronald and Raymond York; step daughter, Mona Jones; brother-in-law, Charles Taylor.
He is survived by daughter, Shelia; step daughters, Sue, Carol, Jan and Angie; brothers and sisters, Loretta (Leroy) Wallace of Caron, IN; Mitchell (Linda) York of Bledsoe; Bridget Taylor of Loyall, John (Brenda) York of Cawood, Bertha York and Don Viles of Baxter, Dennis (Missy) York of Baxter, Obie (Julia) York of Pine Mountain, Darryl York of Wallins, Ginger Skidmore and Rick Moses of Coldiron, Jill (Freddie) Burke of Wallins; 14 grandchildren, special niece, Jennifer Skidmore; special nephews, Matthew York and Charles "Bubby" Miracle; special friend, Chuck Worthington; he leaves other nieces and nephews to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be Tuesday July 27, 2010 from 12 until 2 at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Matthew Taylor and Bro. Bobby Couch presiding.
Burial will follow in the York Family Cemetery at Happy Top.
Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
