David D. Turner, age 56 of Cumberland, KY passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013, at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY. He was born August 03, 1956 to Johnny Turner and the late Ethel Eldridge Turner in Benham. David had worked as an assistant manager and janitor. He served in the United States Navy and believed in the Pentecostal faith.
He is survived by his wife, Dorcas Brock Turner; children, Lisa Shepherd (Enoch) of Winchester, KY, Shannon Keith of Cumberland, David P. Turner (Ginger) of Putney, Christy Sparacia (Steven) of Benham, and Ashley Cornett (Lonnie) of Whitesburg, KY; sisters, Lynda Markert, Rose Lewis, Judy Sizemore and Cindy Turner; brothers, Kenneth Turner, Richard Turner and Major Turner; grandchildren, Scotty, Jacob and Joseph Shepherd of Winchester, KY, Dakota and Harley Keith of Cumberland, Cassie, Sonny and Gage Mitchell of Benham, and Xavier Cornett of Whitesburg; and a host of other family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, in the Chapel of the Tri City Funeral Home in Benham, KY between 6 – 9 pm.
Funeral services will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at 1 pm with the Reverend Billy Lewis and Reverend Pete Asher officiating. Interment will follow in the Monte Vista Cemetery with military rites at graveside. Pallbearers are Enoch Shepherd, Lonnie Cornett, Steven Sparacia, Christopher Johnson, Johnny Johnson, and Scotty Shepherd.
